Replacing a bath usually means removing tiling, panels and sometimes flooring, so one chip or scratch can turn into a full bathroom refit. Where the bath and the damage are suitable, we repair localised cosmetic damage in place and leave the surrounding bathroom undisturbed.
Bath material matters: acrylic, enamelled steel, cast iron and composite all behave differently and are handled differently. We identify the material and confirm the damage is localised and cosmetic before recommending any work. If you would also like the base to feel more secure underfoot, ask about anti-slip treatments as a separate service.

Photographs are reviewed to identify the bath material and confirm the damage is localised and cosmetic rather than something the surface cannot resolve.

Preparation
Tiling, screens, taps and flooring are masked and protected, the room is ventilated appropriately, and the damaged area is cut back to sound material.

Repair
The chip, scratch or worn area is rebuilt in layers and shaped back to the original contour of the bath.

Finish
Colour, sheen and texture are matched to the surrounding surface as closely as the materials allow so the repair blends into the bath.

Inspection
The repair is checked with you in natural light, the bathroom is left clean, and we explain curing time and aftercare before the bath returns to use.

Every surface is assessed before work is agreed. Where a repair is not the right long-term answer, we will say so.
- Structural cracks, flexing bases and split shells are replacement work, not repair work.
- Baths that are leaking, moving or poorly supported need that addressed before any cosmetic repair.
- Severe crazing or damage across the whole surface is beyond a localised repair.
- Deep gloss and dark colours can show a repair more readily, and we will say so beforehand.
- A repair is a close blend, not an invisible restoration.

How long before the bath can be used again?
Curing time depends on the product and the size of the repair. We confirm it on site and explain aftercare before we leave rather than quoting a figure in advance.
Can the bath be made less slippery at the same time?
