Commercial

Commercial Sectors We Support

Surface Magic Repairs carries out planned and reactive cosmetic surface repairs for organisations across the UK. Whether the work sits in a maintenance programme, a refurbishment schedule or an urgent call-out before a handover or reopening, the aim is the same: put the damage right in place, on site, without stripping out and replacing sound items.

Repair before replacement reduces material costs, removes replacement lead times, limits downtime and disruption to occupants and trading, and keeps usable fixtures, fittings and finishes out of skips. Why replace when you can repair?

Leading market

Construction, main contractors, housebuilders & property developers

Around a third of our work supports construction, development and new-build projects. Apartment blocks, multi-unit schemes, new-build snagging repairs and commercial fit-outs are handled on site, around live programmes, with items assessed for suitability before booking.

Specialist solutions

High-value commercial repair solutions

Two services that commercial clients ask for most often, where repair work protects budgets, keeps premises open and supports practical property management.

Glazing & shopfronts

Glass Polishing & Scratch Removal

Suitable scratches, vandalism damage and surface marks on shopfronts and commercial glazing can often be removed or significantly improved by specialist polishing, subject to inspection of the pane.

Where polishing is suitable, it can avoid the cost of full pane replacement, reduce disruption to trading and access, and keep the existing glass in place. Not every scratch can be removed — deep damage, cracks and some coatings are not suitable, and we say so before starting.

Bathing areas

Anti-slip Treatments for Baths & Shower Trays

Applied in place for hotels, hospitality venues, care environments, student accommodation and managed commercial property. Treatment can improve slip resistance on suitable baths and shower trays, subject to assessment and correct maintenance.

Used as part of planned maintenance, it supports practical risk management and may help reduce exposure to avoidable slip incidents and associated claims. It does not prevent accidents, remove liability, or replace formal risk assessment, cleaning and maintenance.

Construction, Development & Refurbishment

On live sites, cosmetic damage tends to appear late in the programme, after other trades have been through. Snagging lists fill with chipped baths, scratched worktops, damaged door frames and marked cladding, all of which threaten handover dates. Repairing that damage in place removes the cost of re-ordering finished goods, avoids stripping out completed work and lets sign-off happen without waiting on replacement lead times.

Property, Facilities & Housing

Managed property runs on turnaround time. Between tenancies, or during a planned maintenance cycle, small areas of damage decide whether a unit is presentable or held back. Cosmetic surface repair covers baths, sanitaryware, kitchen worktops, tiling, doors and windowsills across large portfolios, keeping voids short, dilapidation costs proportionate and residents undisturbed in occupied buildings.

Hospitality, Retail & Workplaces

Customer-facing space is judged on detail, and it takes constant wear from trolleys, luggage, furniture and footfall. Bathrooms, reception desks, bar tops, shopfronts, fitting rooms and meeting rooms can be repaired room by room and returned to service the same day, which protects trading hours and room availability rather than closing a floor for a refit.

Education, Healthcare & Public Sector

These environments have fixed windows for work and strict expectations around cleanliness, access and safety. Washrooms, ward and bedroom furniture, corridors, doors and worktops take heavy daily use and must stay serviceable. Repairs can be scheduled into holidays, quieter shifts or agreed decant plans, restoring a hygienic, sound finish without extended closures.

Insurance, Design & Specialist Trades

For claims, installations and specified schemes, the question is usually whether an item genuinely needs replacing. An honest assessment and, where suitable, a colour-matched repair settles accidental damage claims proportionately, rescues a newly delivered or newly fitted item, and keeps a specified finish intact instead of substituting it.

Industrial, Logistics & Transport

Operational buildings prioritise uptime. Impact damage to panels, doors, welfare areas, counters and vehicle interiors is common in these settings and rarely worth a full replacement. Localised repair work can be carried out around shift patterns and busy periods so that a functional, tidy finish is restored with minimal interruption to movement of people or goods.
