uPVC Frame & Cill Repairs

Damage to a uPVC frame or cill is rarely a reason to take a window or door out. Where the profile is sound and the damage is on the surface, we repair in place — so the glazing, sealant and surrounding plaster or brickwork stay exactly as they are.

We work on white, coloured and foiled woodgrain-effect uPVC across window frames, door frames, cills, trims and add-on profiles. Foils and textured finishes vary considerably, so the profile and the finish are always identified at assessment before any work is agreed.

Scope

What we repair

  • uPVC window frames, sashes and beading
  • uPVC door frames, outer frames and thresholds
  • Internal and external cills and cill end caps
  • Trims, architraves, add-on profiles and cover strips
  • White, coloured and foiled woodgrain-effect finishes
  • Cracked, dented or gouged sections where the profile remains sound
  • Commercial and communal entrance frames in managed buildings

Damage

Typical damage we see

  • Impact chips and gouges from ladders, scaffold and deliveries
  • Scratches and scuffing along cills and low-level frames
  • Dents and crushed sections from tools or plant movement
  • Burn and heat marks from hot works or discarded cigarettes
  • Damaged foil edges and lifting or marked woodgrain finishes
  • Trade and transit damage on new-build and fit-out sites

How it works

Our repair process

  1. 01

    Assessment

You send clear photographs of the damage and a wider shot of the frame or cill. We identify the profile and finish and confirm whether an in-place repair is suitable before anyone travels.

  2. 02

    Preparation

Glazing, seals, sills and surrounding decoration are masked and protected, and the damaged area is cleaned back to sound, stable material.

  3. 03

    Repair

The chip, dent or damaged section is rebuilt in layers and shaped back to the original line and profile of the frame, cill or trim.

  4. 04

    Finish

Colour, sheen and texture — including woodgrain effect where present — are matched to the surrounding surface as closely as the materials allow.

  5. 05

    Inspection

The repair is checked with you in daylight, the area is left clean, and we explain curing time and aftercare before the window or door returns to normal use.

Honest advice

Suitability and limitations

Every surface is assessed before work is agreed. Where a repair is not the right long-term answer, we will say so.

  • We repair surfaces and profiles; we do not re-glaze, replace sealed units or adjust and repair window mechanisms.
  • Frames that are distorted, rotten in the core, or no longer holding the glazing correctly need replacement rather than a surface repair.
  • Failed weather seals, draughts and water ingress are not resolved by a cosmetic repair and need addressing separately.
  • Some foils, deep woodgrain textures and strong colours are harder to match, and we will say so before starting.
  • A repair is a close blend, not an invisible one.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can a cracked uPVC cill be repaired instead of replaced?

Often, yes. Where the cill is still sound and secure and the damage is localised, the section can be rebuilt and refinished in place without disturbing the window above it.

Do you repair woodgrain and coloured uPVC?

We work with white, coloured and foiled woodgrain-effect uPVC. Because foils and textures vary, we identify the finish from your photographs and confirm suitability first.

Do you replace glass or fix window mechanisms?

No. Our work is surface and profile repair. Glazing, sealed units, hinges, handles and locking mechanisms are a glazier's or installer's work.

Can you repair damage caused by trades on a new-build site?

Yes — frame and cill damage found at snagging is a large part of our construction work. Send photographs of the affected plots and we will confirm what is suitable to repair.
