What does brick tinting actually do?
It changes the colour appearance of suitable brick faces and pointing so a replacement brick or patch repair blends into the wall around it. The brickwork itself is unchanged.

Replacement bricks and patch repairs rarely match the wall around them. Brick tinting is a cosmetic colour-blending service that reduces that visual difference, so a sound repair stops drawing the eye from across the street.
This is finishing work, not masonry work. We tint and blend the appearance of suitable brickwork and pointing; we do not carry out structural repair, brick replacement, waterproofing or damp treatment, and we assess every wall and its condition before recommending tinting.

How it works
Our repair process

Assessment
You send photographs of the affected area and a wider shot of the elevation in daylight. We confirm the brickwork is suitable for cosmetic tinting and that the underlying repair is complete and sound.

Preparation
On site the area is checked in natural light, adjoining surfaces, frames and glazing are masked and protected, and the brick faces are cleaned so the tint can take evenly.
- 03
Repair
Colour is built up in thin layers across the affected bricks and, where needed, the pointing, working the tone towards the surrounding wall rather than a single flat colour.
- 04
Finish
Variation, shading and texture are worked into the tinted area so it reads as part of the wall from normal viewing distance rather than as a uniform patch.
- 05
Inspection
The blend is reviewed with you from the distance the wall is normally seen, the area is left clean, and we explain any curing time and sensible aftercare.

Suitability and limitations
Every surface is assessed before work is agreed. Where a repair is not the right long-term answer, we will say so.
- This is a cosmetic colour-blending service only — it is not structural repair, brick replacement, repointing, waterproofing or damp proofing.
- Tinting does not address movement, cracking, spalling or damp; those need the appropriate trade before any cosmetic work.
- Very wet, frosted, unstable, heavily soiled or previously painted brickwork may not be suitable.
- Colour is blended towards the surrounding wall as closely as the materials allow; we make no claim of an exact or invisible match.
- Externally, weathering will continue to change both the wall and the tinted area over time.

Frequently asked questions
Is brick tinting a structural repair?
No. It is purely cosmetic. Any structural repair, repointing, movement or damp issue should be resolved by the relevant trade first, and we will say so if we see it at assessment.
Will the tinted bricks match exactly?
The aim is a close blend seen from normal viewing distance, with tone and variation worked in. We do not claim an exact or invisible match.
Can tinting be used outside as well as inside?
Suitable external and internal brickwork can both be considered. Exposure, condition and weather all affect suitability, so each wall is assessed before work is agreed.
