Can you repair a chipped worktop without replacing the whole run?
In many cases, yes. Where the core is sound and the damage is localised, the profile can be rebuilt and refinished in place so the rest of the worktop is left untouched.

Where the worktop and the damage are suitable, we repair in place so the kitchen or counter stays usable and the sound surface around the damage is left alone.
Our worktop work leads on laminate and stone-effect laminate, together with suitable solid-surface and composite-faced worktops. Every worktop is assessed before any work is agreed, and where a repair is not the right long-term answer we will tell you plainly.

Our repair process

Assessment
You send clear photographs of the damage and a wider shot of the worktop. We identify the surface type and confirm whether an in-place repair is suitable before anyone travels.

Preparation
On site the surface is checked in daylight, the surrounding kitchen or counter area is masked and protected, and loose or contaminated material is cut back to a sound edge.
- 03
Repair
The damaged profile is rebuilt in layers using repair systems appropriate to the worktop material, restoring the shape of the surface, edge or joint.
- 04
Finish
Colour, sheen and texture are matched to the surrounding surface as closely as the materials allow, so the repair blends into its setting.
- 05
Inspection
The finished repair is checked with you in natural light, the work area is left clean, and we explain any curing time or aftercare before the surface returns to normal use.

Suitability and limitations
Every surface is assessed before work is agreed. Where a repair is not the right long-term answer, we will say so.
- We do not repair or market granite, quartz or natural stone worktops.
- Water-damaged or swollen chipboard cores usually need replacement rather than a surface repair.
- Widespread delamination across a whole run, or damage affecting the structure of the worktop, is replacement work.
- High-gloss and heavily patterned finishes can be harder to match, and we will say so before starting.
- A repair is a close blend, not an invisible one — the aim is a sound, tidy and far less noticeable surface.
