Is a crack repair a structural repair?
No. Our work is cosmetic surface repair. We do not carry out structural work, and we do not assess or advise on structural movement — that is a matter for a suitably qualified professional.

A crack in a visible surface is unsightly and often makes an otherwise sound item look finished. Where the crack is cosmetic and the surface around it is stable, we fill, rebuild and refinish the area in place.
This service is cosmetic only, and we are deliberately clear about that. We are not structural engineers: we do not diagnose movement, remediate substrates, or provide waterproofing or tanking. If a crack is a symptom of movement, water or a failing substrate, that has to be resolved by the appropriate trade before any cosmetic repair is worth doing.

How it works
Our repair process

Assessment
Photographs of the crack and its surroundings are reviewed so we can judge whether it is cosmetic and stable, or a sign of something beneath the surface that needs another trade first.

Preparation
The surrounding area is masked and protected, and the crack is opened out and cleaned back to sound, dry, stable material.
- 03
Repair
The prepared crack is filled and rebuilt in layers with systems appropriate to the material, then shaped back to the original surface profile.

Finish
Colour, sheen and texture are matched to the surrounding surface as closely as the materials allow so the repair blends into its setting.
- 05
Inspection
The repair is checked with you in natural light, the area is left clean, and we explain curing time and aftercare before normal use resumes.

Suitability and limitations
Every surface is assessed before work is agreed. Where a repair is not the right long-term answer, we will say so.
- This is cosmetic repair only. We are not structural engineers and we do not assess, diagnose or advise on structural movement.
- We do not carry out substrate remediation, tanking or waterproofing, and a cosmetic repair does not make a surface watertight.
- Cracks caused by movement, flexing, poor support or water ingress will usually reappear unless the cause is resolved first.
- Cracks that pass fully through an item, or widespread crazing across a whole surface, are replacement work.
- A repair is a close blend, not an invisible one, and some finishes are harder to match than others.

Frequently asked questions
Will a cracked surface be waterproof after repair?
We make no waterproofing claims. We do not provide tanking or substrate remediation, and a cosmetic repair should not be relied on to keep water out.
Why might a crack come back?
Because a crack is often a symptom. Where movement, flexing, poor support or water is the cause, the cosmetic repair can reopen unless that underlying cause is dealt with first.
How do I find out if my crack is suitable?
Send a close photograph of the crack plus a wider shot of the whole surface through the quotation form, and we will tell you honestly whether a cosmetic repair is appropriate.
